This 8 hour training aimed at Salon Professionals

COMING SOON!

Cost of this CAP Training is $35.00 (scholarships available)

Contact Tanya Martinez to register @ AdvocatesAgainstViolence@gmail.com

This training will provide the participants with knowledge on the cycle of family violence, spotting signs of violence, how to discuss violence with your client, and where to refer your clients when you know abuse is happening.

Why Salon Professionals?  Salon professionals often see their clients month after month and year after year.  They build relationships with their clients and a majority of salon professionals can easily spot changes in their clients’ behaviors.  Salon professionals are experienced listeners and it is not uncommon for women to confide in them.  In addition, the salon may be one of the only places a battered women can go without the abuser.

Salon professionals will not be required to report suspected cases of abuse; however will become a vital role in providing helpful information about available resources, how to spot intimate violence, and how to discuss intimate violence with clients (AG, State of Florida).
